Frequently Asked Questions

  • A: If the stream is buffering, first check your internet connection and ensure you’re connected to a stable Wi-Fi network rather than mobile data if possible. Closing other apps or browser tabs can also help improve performance. Try refreshing the page or restarting the stream link. If the issue continues, switching to a different device or browser can sometimes resolve it. In most cases, buffering is related to the viewer’s connection rather than the broadcast itself.

  • A: Yes. Even if there is a temporary livestream interruption, the entire service is recorded locally in high quality. This means a complete, uninterrupted copy is preserved regardless of any online dropouts. Once processing is finished, a secure link is provided so you can watch, download and share the full recording at your convenience.

  • A: Data dropouts can occur due to factors outside anyone’s control, such as weak mobile coverage, network congestion, venue internet limitations or temporary service interruptions from providers. These issues are related to connectivity rather than the production itself. We use professional equipment, test connections on arrival and, where possible, use hard-wired internet or bonded data systems to minimise the risk. However, no live internet connection can ever be guaranteed 100%. Cole Studios is responsible for providing professional equipment, preparation and monitoring throughout the service, but external network disruptions are outside our direct control. Importantly, the full service is always recorded locally, ensuring a complete copy is available even if there is a temporary online interruption.

  • A: Mobile live-streaming uses professional cameras and audio equipment connected to a dedicated streaming system that sends the broadcast over the internet using mobile data networks. In many cases, multiple mobile network connections are combined (bonded) to improve stability and reduce the risk of dropouts. The stream is then delivered to a secure private viewing link that family and friends can access on their devices.

The main limitation of mobile live-streaming is internet connectivity. Signal strength can vary depending on location, building structure, weather and network congestion. While bonded systems greatly improve reliability, mobile data can never be guaranteed to be 100% stable. For this reason, where possible, a hard-wired internet connection is preferred.

Importantly, the full service is always recorded locally in high quality. Even if there is a brief online interruption, the complete recording remains intact and is made available afterwards.

  • A: No livestream can ever be guaranteed to work 100% of the time. There are factors beyond our control, such as venue internet stability, mobile network strength, weather conditions and broader service provider disruptions. While we use professional equipment, test connections and monitor the stream throughout the service, external connectivity variables can never be fully eliminated.

Our service is provided on the understanding that this small level of risk exists. To protect families, the entire service is always recorded locally in high quality and made available later that evening, typically by 7pm or earlier. If you are not comfortable with the inherent risk associated with live internet broadcasting, we may not be the right provider for your needs.

  • A: Once the livestream has begun, we are fully focused on operating and monitoring the broadcast, so we are not able to take incoming calls directly during the service. If you experience viewing issues, please contact the Funeral Director. We keep them informed of any connectivity matters and they will be aware if there are known data issues or venue-related interruptions. In many cases, viewing problems are related to the viewer’s own internet connection, and refreshing the stream or switching networks resolves it. After the service, we are available to assist with any follow-up questions or access to the recording.

  • A: The recording is typically available by 7pm that evening, and often earlier depending on the finish time of the service. Once ready, it will be accessible in our Downloads section via a secure link. From there, you can watch online or download the video to your device for viewing and sharing as needed.
